Hello it’s Helen here from Its Helens World and in this post I will be sharing my top five attractions to do at Universal Studios Orlando.
1-Transformers
Starting off the list we have Transformers and this is located in the New York area of the park to be honest when this was first brought to universal I was undecided how I was going to feel about this attraction as personally I’d never really been that much of a Transformers fan however all my doubts were quickly proven wrong upon my first ride. The Transformers ride is your typical 3D simulator but what makes it truly special for me is the amount of theming from the moment you step into the attraction you are immersed in the Transformers world and you must embark on a mission to save the world. To be honest one of the best things about this ride is the soundtrack it’s an epic score that never lets up whilst you’re riding and from the minute you step foot into the ride vehicle until the minute you exit the musical element of this ride is something special and when you combine every aspect of this ride it means it is a must do for anyone that is visiting the park either for the first time or like me is a frequent visitor.
2-Bourne
In at #2 we have the Bourne stunt show spectacular now again I think Steve was very nervous when this was announced as this replaced his beloved Terminator 3D attraction. However when we first did it we all agreed that it was worth the replacement although Terminator will still have a very special place in our hearts. This isn’t an intense simulator ride or rollercoaster but more an incredible piece of theatre as you are tasked with watching Jason Bourne as he goes on a globe trotting mission to take down a corrupt government and this is done using a really impressive blend of practical stunts and immersive 3D technology. This is also the perfect type of attraction for if you are feeling a bit overwhelmed by the Florida heat and wish to just take some time to regroup whilst watching something truly special.
3-Escape From Gringotts
Our third entry on this list is Escape from Gringotts now I can understand if you disagree with this and think that maybe Hagrid’s should be in this place and don’t get me wrong we all agree that Hagrid’s is a truly magical adventure but indulge me. I think what makes most of universals best attractions is the theming and the theming in this ride is second to none you enter into Gringotts bank and are instantly shown some of the most impressive animatronics with the bank goblins waiting to greet you. From there you are taken down into the bank vaults where you embark on a high speed chase to stop Voldemort and bellatrix this ride is high speed and includes a sudden drop at the beginning which ensures that your adrenaline starts from the moment the ride begins and doesn’t let up until you reach the ride station to exit.
4-ET
Throughout the evolution of Universal Studios Orlando they have constantly innovated on attractions which aimed to push the boundaries of emerging but there is something to be said for a true classic and in this category you can’t get much better than ET. This is one of Steve’s personal favourite rides in all of universal’s theme parks and so for that reason alone it holds a special place in my heart but the ride itself is also truly something you have to experience. In order to experience this ride you must give your name on a special ride pass and this makes for a truly magical moment at the end where when you are able to save ET through helping him rediscover his magic healing touch he thanks you personally by using the names given on the ride pass and so this is a really small detail but it’s something that can make for an incredible memory. The ride vehicles are also incredible as they take heavy inspiration from the films as you fly through the air on magical bicycles
5-Jimmy Fallon
This is undoubtedly going to be the most controversial entry on this list but for me personally this was a ride that really blew me away. I am a big twisters fan so I was naturally gutted to learn that it was going to be replaced by a new attraction. However there is something which I can’t quite put my finger on as to why I love this ride it’s your classic simulator where you race with Jimmy Fallon through New York but whether it’s the studio aesthetic which makes you feel like you’re a part of one of his talk show audiences or the outlandish adventure you find yourself on where you are faced with being blasted by T-shirt and pizza cannons there is something truly special about this ride and for these reasons it makes it into my top five rides at Universal Studios Orlando.
Thanks for reading.
